BNL banca commerciale (BNL bc) is the new entity created by the reorganisation of the BNL Group following its acquisition by BNP Paribas in the first half of 2006. It is today one of
Italy’s leading banking groups.
Founded in 1913 under the name Istituto di Credito per la Cooperazione, in 1992 it was transformed into Società per Azioni da Banca, a state-owned bank controlled by the Ministry of the Treasury. In 1998, following privatisation by public sale, BNL was listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
With its 96 years of history, BNL is today one of Italy’s best-known brands.
