The decade 1970 - 1980

In 1970 Compagnie Bancaire took over COFICA (Compagnie pour le Financement de l'Industrie, du Commerce et de l'Agriculture), which provided financing for individuals and small businesses and specialized in automobile, truck and tractor financing. In 1973 a funded pension life insurance company called Cardif was created. Cardif sold new products such as growth fund bonds that revolutionized the market. The company enjoyed enormous growth, and was given a place on the Paris Bourse Second Market in 1990.

In another innovation inspired by the American shopping malls, the group's SEGECE subsidiary opened four shopping centers near Paris and Marseille between 1970 and 1978.
